The Pelet Foundation recently organized a vibrant and impactful event for school children in Lagos, Nigeria. Held at the Methodist Primary community school, the event aimed to provide educational support and recreational activities for over 200 children from underserved communities. The foundation, renowned for its dedication to improving educational opportunities, curated a day filled with learning, fun, and inspiration.
The event kicked off with an opening ceremony featuring a welcome address by the foundation’s founder, who highlighted the importance of education in shaping the future of Nigeria. This was followed by a series of interactive workshops and educational sessions. Topics ranged from basic literacy and numeracy to science experiments and creative arts, ensuring that children of all ages and interests were engaged and inspired.
In addition to the educational activities, the event included various recreational segments designed to bring joy and excitement to the children. There were games, face painting, and a talent show where children showcased their singing, dancing, and acting skills. The highlight of the day was a motivational speech by a local celebrity, who shared their personal journey and encouraged the children to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience.
The Pelet Foundation also provided each child with a “Learning Pack,” containing school supplies, books, and educational toys, to support their ongoing education. The event concluded with a communal meal, where children, volunteers, and organizers shared stories and built connections. This event not only provided immediate educational support but also reinforced the foundation’s commitment to fostering a brighter future for the children of Lagos.
